Thank you for your interest in Miss Theresa's Minnie College (formerly Theresa's Tiny Tots)! Miss Theresa's Minnie College is a state licensed Family Child Care Home located in SW Topeka. Theresa is a military wife and has been married to her husband Chris for more than 25 years.  She has ran a home daycare for over 20 years.  Her husband is supportive of this venture, and helps with many things to ensure that the business is the best!

Theresa and Chris relocated to Topeka in June 2012. They have three wonderful children - Cody, Dustin and Kayla.  Kayla is currently attending Washburn University and majoring in early childhood education.  She has been helping and playing with the kids for several years.  The kids all just love her!

For Theresa - her family is EVERYTHING, and the reason that she originally started having child care in her home.  When her children were small, not only did she not want to be away from them, but she also had a couple of bad experiences. She found it very difficult to find someone who she felt she could trust and do things that she thought were just "common sense."  Theresa has high standards and will love and take care of each child in my care as if they were her own.  They become like extended family. She also believes children thrive on structure and do best when they are in a setting where they feel safe and loved.

Theresa focuses on providing a high quality preschool setting. She not only prepares children for kindergarten but for life, by teaching them good manners, kindness and empathy toward others, respect for the teacher, and her home and property. She believes that if you praise and reward good behavior enough then there is very little need for punishing bad behavior.

 

She accepts children age 2 1/2 to 6 that are potty trained. If your child is close to being potty trained then she will certainly be willing to work with you on that.

Theresa does a lot of additional training above and beyond what is required by the state of Kansas. She has completed over 600 hours of in-service training during her years working in child care. Since October 2012, she has completed CPR/First Aid, Safe Sleep, Child Abuse Neglect, Child Development classes as well as graduated the class Building a Family Child Care Business sponsored by the Topeka Chamber of Commerce as well as several other classes. She continues to reinvest her time and money into her business to guarantee that Theresa's Tiny Tots is one of the VERY BEST in Topeka. She also continues to advance her education in early childhood education whenever she can. I always strive to be reliable, and dependable so that her Child Care is the last one that you ever need!
